dc.description.abstract | Reviews the book, Principles and practice of sex therapy, 4th edition edited by Sandra Leiblum (see record 2006-23373-000). This book provides new internationally recognised research and clinical experts in sex therapy, updating chapters and adding others, including ones on prior neglected areas such as cultural and ethnic contributions to sexual function and dysfunction, the treatment of men and women who have experienced sexual abuse, and persistent genital arousal in women respectively. In addition, there is a new and comprehensive overview of treating sexual problems associated with chronic medical illness as well as medications available to treat sexual dysfunction. Overall, this book presents the current state of the art in the treatment and management of sexual difficulties within a historical context. This book is warmly recommended to both trainees and experienced clinicians in the field as it represents a most valuable contribution to the world of sex therapy.
