It starts with a discussion of myths and attitudes to later-life sexuality, followed by research studies in this area, sexual physiology, the effects of physical illness and medication on sexuality, taking a sexual history, the description of the main sexual problems in older people, and addressing specific issues of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) population. It further describes the issue of sexual abuse in older people and the topic of sexuality and dementia.
